ECHO and PBR Announce Partnership
Pueblo, CO (1/4/2013) - PBR, ECHO® Outdoor Power Equipment Announce Partnership
Rugged brand joins forces with world’s premier bull riding organization
The Professional Bull Riders announced that they have forged a partnership with ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment to be the “Official Chain Saw” of the PBR for the upcoming 2013 PBR season.
The partnership is highlighted by ECHO creating a commercial featuring two-time PBR World Champion and fan favorite Chris Shivers endorsing the power, strength, and endurance of ECHO Chainsaws. ECHO will also market its brand at 10 events during the 2013 Built Ford Tough Series season. The partnership also includes in-arena and chute signage, public address announcements, and video board spots.
“ECHO chainsaws are built to tackle the toughest jobs; the PBR is the toughest sport on earth - this partnership epitomizes the core of what our entertainment property is all about,” said PBR Chairman and CEO Jim Haworth. “We look for marketing partners that place value in what we exhibit; ECHO recognized what the PBR symbolizes and worked with us to create a partnership that will generate awareness and buzz as our 2013 PBR season unfolds.”
“We are very excited about this partnership,” said Mike Best, ECHO VP of Sales & Marketing. “At ECHO we can relate to ‘tough.’ As a leading supplier of professional-grade, high performance outdoor power equipment we view this partnership with PBR as a great fit for our company in general and for our chain saws specifically. ECHO builds chain saws for use in demanding conditions by ranchers, large land owners and arborists alike. Our partnership with the PBR and Chris Shivers helps us get that message across to fans that have a need for our products. We look forward to advancing both our brands.”
ECHO will begin its partnership with strong activation around the BFTS event in Chicago on Jan. 12 and 13 at Allstate Arena. ECHO Power Equipment’s headquarters and manufacturing center are located less than an hour from Chicago in Lake Zurich, Ill. ECHO chain saws are designed to provide long, trouble-free life. Just like a champion PBR rider, an ECHO chain saw starts easy, runs smooth, and provides years of dependable performance.
The PBR will celebrate 20 years of competition with the 2013 season. The BFTS will make 26 stops in 18 states, beginning at world-famous Madison Square Garden in New York on Jan. 4-6. The season will conclude Oct. 23-27 in Las Vegas with the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals, where the PBR World Champion will be crowned and awarded a $1 million bonus. The richest bull riding event in the world, the World Finals has a total purse of more than $2 million.
The BFTS is televised every week on CBS, CBS Sports Network and YouTube. BFTS telecasts are produced for the PBR under a multi-year agreement with David Neal Productions, a Los Angeles-based production company led by 34-time Emmy® Award winner and Peabody Award winner David Neal, who serves as executive producer.
More than 100 million viewers watch primetime PBR programming annually on networks around the world and nearly two million fans attend PBR events each year. PBR has awarded over $120 million dollars in prize money over 20 years of competition, including a $1 million dollar bonus to the PBR World Champion each year.
