Location: Lake Zurich, IL
Provide direct daily supervision of distribution center associates to ensure safe, clean and efficient operations. Develop and implement picking work schedules and assignments for parts, accessories, finished goods, employee orders and IPS products to ensure on-time and efficient operations. Applies sound communication and motivational techniques in supervising, coaching and disciplining employees. Plans and manages manpower to support shift activity and meet weekly schedule requirements.
Assists with monthly Physical Inventory of whole goods and parts and accessory department cycle count programs. Ensures that counts are correct and reconciles errors as necessary. Tour the distribution center and factory regularly to answer questions, evaluate operations, solve problems and to ensure that it is neat, well organized and that damage to product, equipment and the facility is prevented.
Interact with other distribution center supervisors and departmental management in the factory to achieve goals. Schedule regular weekly meetings with direct staff and attend meetings with other departments. Allocate equipment so that it is utilized in the most efficient manner. Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion. Create and monitor daily, weekly metrics that are required for the outbound selection group.
Oversees parts and accessory and units department picking. Ensures picking is assigned correctly to best utilize staff. Ensures accuracy of picks and investigates and tracks overage/shortage claims submitted by customers. Oversees receiving, put away of parts and accessories as well as finished units from production and the bin retrieval process. Recommends, hires and terminates employees as necessary.
Maintains a safe work environment free from any hazards. Verifies that employees perform their work duties in a safe manner. Participates in accident investigations for incidents that occur in their area of responsibility.
Performs various other duties and assignments as requested to help the operation and overall functioning of the department and company.
Minimum five years of distribution experience, excellent math and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, bilingual Spanish preferred. Ability to work well, communicate, and present with all levels of management. Profiency with WMS, AS 400 preferred.
