ECHO BRD-280 Bed Redefiner – Saves Time And Money!
Louisville, KY (10/28/2010) -
The BRD-280 Bed Redefiner from ECHO Incorporated, a leading manufacturer of professional-grade, high-performance hand-held outdoor power equipment for commercial and residential use, delivers results for landscapers who need to keep their flower bed edges in shape. The BRD-280 can be viewed in operation at ECHO’s outdoor exhibit (booth 6120D) at the 2010 GIE+EXPO show this week in Louisville.
The revolutionary bed redefiner allows landscapers to perform flowerbed and landscape edge maintenance way more efficiently than a shovel and without the bulk of a wheeled machine. User experience shows the BRD to perform seven times more efficiently than performing the task with a shovel.
The BRD-280 has a 28.1cc Power Boost Vortex™ engine and a replaceable 7.75-inch steel blade with six staggered carbide tips, which sharpens the bed edge and creates a beautiful beveled finish. The bed redefiner also features comfortable padded handles, a vibration reduction engine mount and a guide wheel to reduce operator fatigue.
The 59-inch straight shaft is ideal for working in tight spaces. The high-impact nylon shield, which features a guide marker for precise edging, directs debris into the bed.
Eric Allebach, owner of The Greenskeeper, Beautiful Lawns By Eric, Inc., in Palmyra, Pa., owns two BRD-280 Bed Redefiners. His crews use the redefiner every day.
“We bought our first BRD-280 a few years ago and the guys were always fighting over it,” Allebach said. “I bought my second one this spring. It is very user friendly and mechanically it has held up well.”
Allebach said the BRD-280 really comes in handy when his crews are doing edging work in tight areas around tree rings. He said they also use the BRD-280 in smaller areas because the machine is easier to maneuver than the bulkier wheeled machines.
“For us, the key to the BRD-280 is the versatility,” Allebach said. “You can get into small places and it is very easy for us to keep it in the trailer because it doesn’t take up much space.”
Allebach’s crews also have taken advantage of the six-finger blade on the bed redefiner to dig deeper trenches for burying electrical wiring.
