Louisville, KY (10/27/2011) -
LOUISVILLE, KY. (Oct. 27, 2011) – ECHO Incorporated, a leading manufacturer of professional-grade, high-performance outdoor power equipment for commercial and residential use, recently named Pensacola, Fla.-based
Jerry Pate Turf & Irrigation the 2010 Distributor of the Year, and also presented Columbus, Ohio-based
General Power Equipment Inc. with the 2010 Sales Excellence Award.
The awards were presented during ECHO’s annual North American distributor meeting in New York, N.Y. Sales and marketing representatives from ECHO’s ten North American distributors attended the awards ceremony.
As the highest honor given by ECHO Inc. to its distributors, the Distributor of the Year award recognizes overall sales, marketing, service and operational excellence involving the ECHO, Shindaiwa and ECHO Bear Cat brands.
“On behalf of the ECHO organization, we are thrilled to acknowledge Jerry Pate Turf & Irrigation for their phenomenal performance in 2010 and their continued support to help ECHO Inc. and our customers achieve success,” said Mike Best, vice president, sales and marketing for ECHO Inc.
Jerry Pate Turf & Irrigation is a provider of outdoor beautification products – including ECHO,

Headquartered in Pensacola, Fla., the distributor also has locations in Atlanta, Ga., Birmingham, Ala., and Memphis, Tenn.
At the same event, General Power Equipment Inc. was cited as the distributor with the highest sales growth in ECHO, Shindaiwa and ECHO Bear Cat products. “We are proud of the overall growth achieved by General Power in a highly competitive market,” said Best. “Their performance is a testament to the creative approach they took with their marketing and sales programs to dealers and end users alike.”
General Power Equipment began in 1994 in a modern 15,000 square foot facility. Rapidly outgrowing its original site, the company moved to its current location in 1996 with more than 80,000 square feet of warehouse space.
